Why do I need car insurance?

This is a question asked by many people all over the world ALL the time. They think "All that money I'd be spending on car insurance could be put to better use like for a new television or house payments, so I just won't get insurance. But then you have to realize that just because you are a good driver doesn't mean everyone else is, and that doesn't mean that you wont ever make a mistake, we're only human. So what happens if you make that mistake and you DO NOT have car insurance? Well then, you would not have a car anymore. Insurance is what protects your vehicle from becoming useless. Those payments you make to  your insurance company ad up. Fixing a car is one of the most expensive things to do, most people cannot do it without insurance because it is so much money out of the pocket. Insurance is a must and is in fact required by law in every state. If it wasn't required you could be sure that many people would not even bother to get it. And this would lead to people not having any form of transportation and losing their jobs and several other horrible things.
